Curigos is a quiet place to keep your reading notes. Here is, plainly and kindly, what happens to your information.
Curigos is built and run by Chinami Shimazaki ("we"). If you have any questions, we are happy to help: contact@curigos.com.
We use your information to:
We never sell personal information or use it for advertising. We may share aggregate statistics that do not identify individuals with partners, but only where the partner agrees not to use them for any purpose that is unlawful or contrary to public order and morals.
When readers record a book, the Curigos Tree shows, at random and for a limited time, the book's details (title and cover image), the reader's reading status (want to read, reading, read) and the hashtag the reader chose, for example #summerreading. Your name, email address, notes and anything that identifies your account are never shown. Your shelf and your reading notes are visible only to you.
We do not share your data with anyone, except the providers who help us run Curigos and handle it only on our behalf: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Google (sign-in), and Resend (email delivery). Some of them operate outside your country, including in the United States.
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account on the Account screen at any time, and your saved data is deleted with it; backups are cleared within 30 days. We protect your data with reasonable technical measures, though no service can be perfectly secure.
You can view and correct what you saved right in the app, and delete your account on the Account screen whenever you like. For anything else, or if something worries you, please write to contact@curigos.com from the address on your account. We may check that it is you, and we will respond as the law requires.
You must be at least 13 to use Curigos, and if you are under 16 you need your parent's or guardian's permission. Rules on children's personal information differ by country: the United States requires parental consent for children under 13, EU countries set the age of consent anywhere from 13 to 16, and Japanese guidance expects parental consent for children of about 15 or younger. We ask for permission up to age 16 so that one rule works for readers everywhere. If we learn that someone under 13 is using Curigos, or that someone under 16 is using it without permission, we may delete the account.
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email. Questions: contact@curigos.com.
